Melissa Burleigh

Melissa Burleigh is the founder and owner of Burleigh Law Firm, located in Kingston, New Hampshire. Melissa has a wealth of legal knowledge and experience, having graduated from Norwich University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, before earning a Master’s in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell in 2004. She went on to complete her Juris Doctorate degree from the Massachusetts School of Law in 2011.

In 2014, Melissa founded Burleigh Law Firm, initially focusing on family law, probate, and estate planning. Melissa legal career includes work as a prosecutor for the town of Kingston, New Hampshire from 2019 to 2022, where she gained valuable insight into the criminal justice system. She also spent a period of time serving as the interim town attorney for Kingston, further expanding her legal expertise.

Over the years, Burleigh Law has expanded its practice areas to include real estate law, criminal law, personal injury, and bankruptcy law. Melissa’s diverse legal background and experience enable her to provide clients with comprehensive legal services across this range of practice areas.

Before becoming a lawyer, Melissa worked as an insurance agent, an experience that has proven valuable in her work in real estate law. Her unique perspective and understanding of the insurance industry allow her to provide informed legal counsel to clients in real estate transactions.

A big fan of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who served as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States until her death in 2020, Melissa aspires to someday become a judge, continuing her commitment to serving the community and upholding justice.

Melissa has been admitted to the bar in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
